The Temple: Coming soon!!! :D‏

Hey everyone,

Surprise, we´re emailing really early this week because we`re already in Cordoba. We have the meeting for training at 1 this afternoon, and we can hardly wait! All of the hermanas have come from far and wide in the mission to be at this meeting for training for the TEMPLE! YAY! En serio, I am so stinking excited. We will probably get to take a mini tour of the temple so that we can know what we´re going to be talking about, there are rumors that we´ll be talking to a General Authority, but there is not a sign of lunch...oh well. The members of our Branch that will be helping in the temple already had the chance to go in an get to know it. They said it is gorgeous, and I´m willing to bet they´re right!

So this week has been really awesome :) We ended up having our District meeting on Tuesday, which was weird, but it was a good meeting. Hermana Salmeron can act really well...she played the part of a really wealthy, and famous business woman for our practices for making contacts with people. It was hilarious :)

We have been finding un montón of new people to teach. The cards that we have been passing out like crazy are so awesome for making contacts. Someone from Córdoba talked on the morning radio program in Oncativo, and practically everyone over the age of 45 heard it, so it´s pretty easy to strike up a conversation. The work of salvation is hastining merrily on it´s way!

So on Friday, we went to an appointment with a family that we contacted in front of the capilla on General Conference Saturday. Carolina is the mom, and Pamela (17) is one of the daughters. We got there and they were waiting for us! Pamela´s boyfriend Santiago also joined us for the lesson, and it was so cool. We talked to them about their family, and then we eventually talked about baptizm. They said they´d be baptized when they knew it was true, and we invited them to church. On Sunday when we went to pick up Pamela, her mom couldn´t come, but her younger sister Melina (15) came. Again, they were ready to go and waiting for us :D They were so excited to come with us. We got them all situated in Young Womens, and it turns out their class was on the Restauration. Hermana Laura, their teacher, is also an ex-missionary, so she taught them lesson 1 with some assistance from hermana Gessica Daniele (ward missionary). They loved it and participated, and answered questions. Then, they got to listen to the poor Hermana Swan give the Gospel Principles lesson on organization of the Priesthood...which didn´t go too bad :) If nothing else, we showed them a chart from the ensign and they understood a little bit about church organization. A little bit of meat before milk, but hey, we had a lot of support in the class from the youth.

It gets better- yesterday was the blessing of Sebastian Alejandro Daniele Fierro (son of Ezekiel and Laura Daniele :) He was dressed to impress in a cute little white suit that his Mexican grandma sent him (although she is not a member of the church yet). His parents had invited a ton of people (members and nonmembers) to the blessing, and it was so cute! There were 48 people in the capilla, which is a lot for us. Then, after the baby blessing, the sacrament and the testimony of Presidente Abate Daga, Pamela and Melina had to go. As we were walking them back to their house, we got the opportunity to talk to them about how it went. They loved it! They really felt the spirit, and they thought that it was so cool that we have the Priesthood that´s been restored to the earth. We have another appointment with them tonight!

We went back to the church, pretty much on top of the world...I mean, how could this day get any better, right? Well, it did! We returned to hear the testimonies, and the Spirit was SO STRONG. There was hardly a dry eye in the entire room...including all of the Hermanos. One of the non-member friends was crying, but really hard; it was so awesome! After all of the amazing testimonies were shared, we closed the meeting, and prepared for una fiesta! We ate pizza, sandwiches, hamburgers, salami, and soda until everyone wanted to pop, and then we had cake that Hermana Salmeron and I helped decorate :) It was so great to mingle with some of the members from Córdoba, the friends and family of all the members. We returned to the pension so exhausted we had to take a quick nap to recover.

I love being a missionary. I would recommend to everyone and anyone to get your stuff in order and get yourself out here to the mission field. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am so blessed to be able to be here in this time when the temple is being dedicated. It is such a great blessing to have an eternal family because of the covenants that my parents made in the Holy Temple. I love that I get to share this happiness and this promise with so many other people who are truly searching for the truth. We have it-now we have to share it! Sometimes we fear what the other people with think if we share the gospel with them, but really, it doesn´t matter. I´ll get to help with the tours the first day of the temple open house. How cool is that? Really, it is a great priveledge, and I`m just so thankful for the Restoration of the Gospel that makes all of this possible.

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed week! Enjoy the little moments! Go to the temple!

I love you all,

The Hermana Swan (obviously still super humble :)
