We have see so many miracles this week, it´s almost ridiculous :) I started praying to see them and to recognize them when they happened...and saben que? It works!
So while I was still with Hermana Humacata we prayed to know where to go and then after following our feet and some spiritual impressions a door opened just as we were perfectly in front of it. The woman that left was really nice and we have high hopes for her and her family. With Hermana Oliva and Hna Garriga (we were 5 in the pension for monday and tuesday), we found two men trying to start a car by pushing it and letting out the clutch. We offered to help, and after a little resistance they allowed us to help. We pushed with all we had....still nothing. So I offered to say a prayer. Coincidently these two men were Jehovah´s witnesses, but appartently not SUPER practicing. We said a prayer and after talking for a few more minutes and an even greater pushing effort...The little old car started right up! The two men were very grateful and very excited that the prayer had worked :) So that was a pretty great contact haha. Then a family of members gave us two references that were awesome! We set a baptisimal date in the first lesson, and they are some really great people! (they didn´t make it to church this week, but they´ll come around :). Then, investigators that we found on friday came to the baptism of Rebeca (of family Lopez that are all members). Then they came to church! Their names are Graciela and Antonio, they´re married, and they have five kids...three of the youngest sons are 17-25 years old and live with them :). They are so awesome. In the end we had two girls of the ward that got baptized this last week...whoohooo!
So basically, Hermana Oliva brought all the fire from Catamarca and now we´re finding like crazy! Hna Oliva is a tiny little Argentine, but she´s definitely a fantastic missionary! She has only 2 weeks more than me, and we´re already the best of friends! She might even be smaller than Hermana Eastman, my trainer in California.
Well, know that the work is going well, and I love you all. I´m so grateful for the gospel because it becomes who you are and makes us better people...the people that the Lord wants us to be. I loved the talk of General Conference (among many others) of Elder Todd D. Christoffersen that talked about the important role of "the church" in our salvation. We can´t do things all alone or by ourselves. We need the help of the Lord, and His other children. If we didn´t, what would be the point?
Thanks for listening,
Hermana Swan
PS. Pray for and then look for a miracle this week (it can be something small) and write about it in your journal! I promise that you will recieve a beautiful experience and feel the spirit!
Hermana Oliva cut my hair this week too, so I´ll look a little less like a ragamuffin :)
All five of us! Hnas Peck, McArthur, Garriga, Oliva
We found WALMART! Well, we took pictures of it this time. We went in and I felt like I was in the US for a second...it even smells like Walmart!
Our what-ya-got stew on Sunday because our lunch canceled on us haha...but it was really good!
