So today is my birthday, and it´s already awesome!! :D My companion made me a chocotorta... it´s so delicious! We ate it for breakfast, and I was almost bouncing off the walls during studies because of so much sugar, but it was great! :)
I would love to say that the weather matches my energy today, but it doesn´t. There´s a word here for the weather condition: llovisno. It´s so humid outside there is rain suspended in the air and everything ends up wet. It´s not raining, but it is. Por lo menos it´s not cold, it´s just sopping wet :) But don´t worry, it won´t rain on my parade ^.^
So yesterday was a holiday here (that´s why I have to write today...Oh heaven forbid I get to write my family and friends on my birthday :P). Shout out to Kelsi for her birthday yesterday! On the 25th, everyone gets together and makes locro. It´s a relatively weird dish that comes from the campo of Argentina. Basically, it reminds me of what´cha got stew, but it´s got a squash base. They throw in beans, potatoes, carrots, pork rind, mondongo (cow), and basically anything else they want, with a strange salsa on top. I wasn´t that impressed with the one we ended up trying (they had a competion of locro in the park here in Saldan), but I´m sure there is a reason why it´s a lot of people´s favorite food. The problem is that I know they throw just about anything and everything into it...so I´m not really sure what it is I´m eating. The next time I try it i´m sure it´ll be mas rico :)
So we ended up watching Frozen with popcorn to start off our P-day. It was awesome :D Then went to the festival of Locro, and then we went on an adventure looking for the Mall in Villa Allende, the area next to ours. It was fun to do a little window shopping (the malls here are extremely expensive, but hey!). Then we shopped for groceries and headed home in our favorite Remis, with our good friend Silvia. When we got to our pension, we realized that I didn´t have the keys. We searched everywhere! We never found them because I didn´t think to say a prayer (that´s what I get for that), and we had to wait a couple of hours until we found the owner and another set of keys. So that was an adventure...but it had to happen sometime I guess.
The last week was really great because we have been talking with a ton of new people. We found a bunch of new investigators (which is fantastic!), and so now we´re working with them. I finally got over my cold, and so it´s been great to work at full throttle again :)
Thanks for all of your letters! I got them just after our Stake Conference this last week. We got to ride in a bus with a lot of people from our branch because they had to hold it in a different area of Córdoba to have space for everyone. I loved getting to go and although it has made it hard for investigators to attend, I always love getting to listen to all of the wonderful messages that they have.
Well, I don´t have any time left, but I hope that you all have a wonderful week, and this week is transfers, so we´ll find out who´s coming to Saldan to be my companion! Hope you all know I love you, thanks for the birthday wishes, and I´ll tell you about my milagro for my b-day next week.
Love,
Hermana Swan
