Hey everyone!
So this week was a little bit more normal than usual.
Last Monday we got a letter from Presidente Alliaud saying that we really need to be looking for Priesthood here in Oncativo so that the church can grow here. So this last week we have made it our mission to contact pretty much every man we can find. This has been kinda funny, but relatively successful. We found a man named Pedro who we both felt like we needed to talk to. He was very nice and open to listening to our message, and so we made an appointment to teach him this week. Turns out he has four sons around the age of 20 or more! We´ll see how the teaching goes, but if the Lord sent someone to us with four sons because we were searching for priesthood, it´s pretty cool. We also found a cute little old man that gave us flowers because he happened to be trimming them when we passed by.
We´re having more success in Laguna Larga, and we have had a pretty cool experience there lately. We´ve been searching for priesthood there too, and we have the family of Roberto that we´re currently working with, and it´s going pretty well. We found a cute little lady named Maria that lost her husband a year and two months ago, and she´s been praying every day that she would die so she doesn´t have to live without him anymore. As heartbreaking as that is, it was so amazing to be able to share the Plan of Salvation with her and the hope that it brings to us.
Familia Cepeda is still doing great, but they didn´t come to church this last week. They went to bed at 6 am, so they didn´t want to get up at 8 am to get to church at 9. However, they are really starting to see the progress their family is making. We started a jar where they have to do an act of service for a family member or obey an instruction from their parents and they can put one pebble in the jar. When it´s full, they´ll earn a really cool surprise from Los Estados Unidos :) So far it´s working pretty well.
Monica is still moving to Oliva, and she is still down for the count. She did have to relocate to her shop though, so we´ll see how the move goes.
Coca´s birthday party was yesterday, and unfortunately, everyone in the ward was either in Córdoba or didn´t get invited because Coca was afraid of having too many people. So basically, it was Coca, Hermana Regalado, and I. It was fun, but we felt so bad that no one was able to come. Coca is 79, but her birthday is actually the 29th of February. Anyways, I have a ton of pictures of the three of us.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week, and that you all know that the Lord is looking out for you. He´s always there to offer us a hand, we just have to have the faith to reach out and take it. It´s like when Peter was walking on the water, doubted when faced with the trials of the wind, and started to sink. The Lord extended his hand when Peter asked for help, and he didn´t drown...but the Lord was there to help his lack of faith. Where am I going with all of that? Not really sure, you´ll have to apply it to your own life :) I´m working on applying the "you fix it" attitude of Presidente Alliaud to help my investigators (and now you) recieve their own revelation instead of trying to do it for them. You´re welcome! :)
Love to all,
Hermana Swan
We don´t really look like tourists in this picture...
Coca´s party
It has rained and rained and rained this week. There is even flooding in some parts of Córdoba, but not very close to us. We´re expecting more storms this week, but today should be good weather for the Zoo!
