Hey everybody,
This week has been full of fun stuff! We´re still working in the temple until the 2nd of May. We worked in the temple a lot of days last week, but we only have two this week...unless they need reinforcements. We´ll be working this thursday and saturday :) This friday is a holiday down here, so I am so glad we´re not going to be working. There were so many people here on Saturday! There were a bunch of members from far and wide, and we were running running running all day long! It was fun though! 2,800 people entered the temple before lunch.
When we´re not working in the temple we are in our area. We had a district meeting, which was fun. Elder Mann (US) and Elder de Souza (Brasilia, Brazil) are in our district. We´re the only hermanas in our zone! It´s cool though. This morning we played basketball with all of the Elders, and it was pretty fun :) It helps to be tall, but there are so many Gringos and I am so short compared to all of them! (I know, it´s hard to believe!).
We work in a Branch that recently separated from a Ward. They meet in a little house-capilla and there were 79 people in attendance this last week. Our goal is 80, so we were so close! We did have an investigator named Jessica who attended with us. She is 18, but she looks like she´s 14. She has a bit of a growth problem, but she really likes learning about the gospel, and we got to take her to the temple on the tour. We have a few characters as recent converts, and most of our work will be with less active members. It´s pretty great though! We fill three rooms for sacrament meeting, and one of them is the patio outside. If we can keep up the numbers, we´ll get a church building in our area :)
Working at the temple is fun, but exhausting. The best part is that we get to see all of the other Hermanas and occasionally we run into Elders that we know. It´s a pretty great opportunity to catch up if there aren´t very many people...and to talk to other missionaries´ investigators hehe.
Well, Saldan is totally different than Oncativo. Nobody panic, but it´s a little bit more mountain. What you can´t see on Google Maps is all of the hills we have to hike, and that all of the streets are dirt. Goodbye flat cement of Cheto Oncativo, hello hiking every day! I feel a little more at home here. There are lots of trees, and there is a place to play soccer and run close to our little house where we live, so that´s what we do in the mornings. Hermana Perez and I get along really well :) She´s pretty mellow and I´m pretty mellow...the only thing is that we feel like we´re two hijas together and sometimes we feel like we don´t know what we´re doing! haha, but we´re loving every minute of it! It really is nice to see more mountains.
I don´t know why I always get the computer with issues, but I am sending a few pictures, I hope they make it. I got my package!!!! Yay for frisbee and Nutella! thanks for all of the little goodies you all sent me, and I´m just so stinking happy here!
Love you all, and hope you know that the Lord always knows exactly what we need in our lives. He looks out for us, and also for those we love. His plan usually isn´t our plan, but it will always work out for the best. I´m so thankful for the opportunity that I have to serve my mission and I´d never change it for the world! Love you all and have a wonderful week!
Love,
Hermana Swan
